THE 3 MILE HARBOR PRESS ANNUAL POETRY BOOK AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n

3 Mile Harbor Press only accepts manuscripts through our Submittable<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deadline: February 28th<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 All manuscripts should include a title page (listing only the title of the work), table of contents, and if applicable, an acknowledgments page.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Manuscript should be paginated and formatted in an easy-to-read font such as Garamond or Times New Roman. Manuscripts should be 48-88 pages in length not including front
\nand back matter (table of contents, title page, etc.). Send as DOC., DOC.X.<\/p>\n

\u2022 For contests, identifying information of the author should not be included anywhere on the manuscript itself, including in the name of your file or in the \u201ctitle\u201d field
\nin Submittable.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Please include a brief bio in your cover letter to Submittable, which will only be made accessible to the editorial panel after semi-finalist and finalist
\nmanuscripts have been chosen.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please notify 3 Mile Harbor Press immediately and withdraw your work from Submittable if it is accepted elsewhere.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The author should hold all rights to the work. The manuscript may include poems previously published in periodicals,
\nanthologies, chapbooks, or on the web, but the manuscript should not published as substantial work. Proper attribution must accompany previously published work.<\/p>\n

\u2022 There is a $40 processing\/reading fee for each submission. While we take the opportunity to consider your work for publication seriously, the 3 Mile Harbor Press reserves the right not to choose a book from the submissions received during any contest reading period. To participate in a contest,\u00a0 a non-refundable entry fee must accompany each submission via our Submittable. You may submit more than one manuscript but each will be considered separately and must include a separate entry fee.<\/p>\n

\u2022 For contests, 3 Mile Harbor editors\/readers will do a blind reading of each entry and then nominate the finalists.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The publisher will choose the winning entry from among the finalists. The final decision is at the sole discretion of the publisher.

\n\u2022 3 Mile Harbor has the option cancel the contest if there are not enough entrants. There will be no refunds.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n


\n<\/strong>The author must hold all rights to their submitted work. Manuscripts may include poems that have been previously
\npublished in periodicals, anthologies chapbooks, or on the web, but the manuscript may not have been published as a larger body of work.<\/p>\n

The author maintains the copyright of their published book.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Send a manuscript of 48-88 pages as a single document via our online submissions manager, Submittable.<\/p>\n

The text must be written in English.<\/p>\n

Include a cover letter with a brief writer’s bio, including your publications.\u00a0 However, no previous publications are necessary.<\/p>\n

Include a title page and table of contents page.<\/p>\n

If applicable, after the table of contents page, please include an acknowledgments page, this a list of poems that have published
\nin journals, magazines, chapbooks, or anthologies.<\/p>\n

Each poem should start on a new page.<\/p>\n

Use Times New Roman or similar 12 pt. font, with at least one-inch margins and pagination (numbered pages).<\/p>\n

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please notify 3 Mile Harbor Press by officially withdrawing your work from the Submittable
\nif your work is accepted elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Please include a one-paragraph writer’s bio and your contact information as part of your cover letter (also include via Submittable).<\/p>\n

Please be sure that your submission is your final version. Corrections and new versions will not be accepted.<\/p>\n

We only accept manuscripts via our Submittable.<\/p>\n
